through this apartment buildin building. good evening everyone. happy thanksgiving. >> dan has the nature off. that fire began in apartment building on willow leaf drive after 8 tonight. lillian joins us live with the very latest. lillian? >>reporter: larry firefighters say this fire started in the roof attic area. these are 2 story town homes. part of the kimberly wood apartment complex and crews are mopping up. fire department got the call at 8:30 p.m. they say it appears the cause may related to a fireplace. flames most intense in the roof attic area of one unit. total of 4 units are said to be destroyed by either flames smoke or water damage and at least 10 people have been displaced from their homes. we spoke to man who rush to get his wife and kids out of the house after neighbor pounded on the door alerting them that the fire. his unit is one of the 4 destroyed. >> my 11-year-old daughter she's really sad. sad

the doors open up at midnight tonight here at best buy and we already have a crowd of about p-300 people that stretches all the way down to the end of the building turns right and goes all the way down to the end of the parking lot. apparently the deals are so good it's worth missing thanksgiving dinner at home. black friday started on thursday at this k mart in pinole. more than 500 people poured in when the doors open at 8:00 p.m. but the line here started forming last nigh night. these women met here 3 years ago. >> we see each other at black friday. we'll start texting each other maybe a month or 2 before. >> as soon as she sent me a picture of herself displaying the no. 1 i rushed here 30 minutes later. >>reporter: most of the easterly bird want the cut rate deal on tv and other electroni electronic. first shpers at the target here started showing up at 3:00 p.m.

>> ready to get an ivl pad and 50 inch screen tv. >>reporter: here at the best buy in pinole shoppers have been in line since sunday waiting for the doors to open up at midnight. >> how much am i going to spen spend? probably about 12, 1300 dollar dollars. i'm saving about 8. >>reporter: but temper flared at the k-mart when customers with rain check for limited tv saw this employee carrying one out. >> i got a ticket for this tv. >> this was bought earlier i work here. >> they have the advertised special and line of 300 people and they have 2 tv. >> two tickets left. end up getting one. >>reporter: management says the rain check should have matched up with the supply but some customers who waited all day left with nothing. >> that's wrong man. i have been here twice all day man. >>reporter: back live. crowds have been very friendly with each other.in fact one woman who was in the front of the

employee handed out leaflet and signs of complaining of low wages can't talk to management about things they don't want to hear. >> issues of company policy and go to majt, then we have a target on our back. wal-mart retaliate against us. wal-mart has zero tolerance retaliation. >>reporter: most of the shoppers we saw tonight ignored the protest. charges of retaliation are the subject of lawsuit before the national labor relations board. >> unfortunately waiting in line for a chance of holiday deals made at least one person snap today. >> oh, boy. happy thanksgivin thanksgiving, sir. this was at sacramento k mart this morning. lines started forming at least 2 hours before the 6:00 a.m. opening. many of the shoppers complained about a lack of security and said the store employees seemed unprepared for

>> family is calling this a thanksgiving miracle. >> yes. young burlingame man in a coma after being shot in the head nearly a month ago is beginning a remarkable recover recovery. >> vick lee witnessed it first happened today a.story only on abc 7 news. >>reporter: it was saturday after halloween. still parties in the city. >> your son benjamin got shot and he's in the hospital. >>reporter: early morning hours of october 28 henry got the phone call every parent fears. his son benjamin was at san francisco general hospital in critical condition. his parents saw him being wheeled into surgery. >> i just went and touch him and i couldn't -- >>reporter: you remember that night? >> captain forget. keep repeating. >>reporter: 21-year-old was

leaving a halloween party at fort mason when a stranger police identified as lee made inappropriate advances toward his girl friend. the man shot benjamin in the head after he went to her defense. at one point doctors said his brain wound was so severe they gave him only a 25% chance of living. he was in a medically induced coma for almost a mont month. but the young man was fighting silently for his life. he was making small but significant victories. 4 days ago as they took his breathing tube off his mouth he uttered his first words. >> i wept there and i told him could you say hi mom and he said hi mom and that was, brought me to tears. >>reporter: benjamin transferred to uc san francisco yesterday. then today another giant step. literally. >> ready? >>reporter: young man tack his first step. nurse calls it miraculous. >> very amazing. it's pretty

mild today right through the weekend then chance of rain developing late next wednesday continuing into next thursday. now let's go on to the low for tonight. i mention the patchy valley fog won't be very wide spread. but notice the low dropping to 36 overnight. 37 in santa rosa. 40 at livermor livermore. perhaps down to about 39. 38 at fairfield. chilly spot for sure. most of the remainder of the bay area will see low in the 40's. on we good to the satellite radar composite image. high pressure is the dominant feature in our weather picture and will be for the next several days which is why we have a string of dry day coming our way right on through the holiday weekend. it's mild right on through the weekend as well. temperatures will start to taper off a little bit sunday into monday. forecast animation starting 11:00 p.m. notice dense fog develop in the central valley again tonight for the second consecutive night and will spread through the delta straits and in our inland valley here in the bay i

can't remember. that's why we expect patchy valley fog overnight tonight and next couple overnight periods as well. but again won't be very wide spread. tomorrow sunny even milder than today. south bay look for high in the upper 60's to low 70's. see high of 70 at san jose cupertino. 71 campbell saratoga. peninsula upper 70's around 70. high of 69 at redwood city and palo alto. 70 at mountain view and mid 60's on the coast at pacifica and a half moon bay. downtown san francisco will see high of 67 tomorrow. 64 in the sun set district. up in the north bay sunny mild with high from 68 san rafael scene. 70 at calistoga and santa rosa. on the east bay lack for high topping out at 70 oakland castro valley and free mont. 69 in union city. the inland east bay see high mainly upper 60's but up to about 70 at livermore and the mildest weather of all tomorrow will be down near monteray bay where we see low to mid 70's at santa cruz watsonville and mid 70's inland. here's accu-weather 7
